- Sister Juliana, a 13th-century Benedictine nun, is credited with being the driving force behind the establishment of the feast of Corpus Christi. She is said to have had a series of visions in which Jesus Christ instructed her to establish a feast day to honor the Eucharist.
- The feast of Corpus Christi was initially celebrated only in the diocese of Liège, but it quickly spread to other parts of the Catholic Church.
